at Fabian Society
The Fabian Society’s development programme provides one-year paid appointments, which are designed to help people who are new to politics to gain skills and experience. Within the development programme, we are now looking for an editorial assistant. This exciting role will enable you to play a crucial part in creating high quality think-tank publications.
We’re looking for someone with a keen interest in politics and policy, good communication skills and a willingness to work hard. As part of our development programme, we’ll train and support you to deliver smaller projects of your own, and make sure that at the end of your contract you are ready to take a step up in your career.
People from backgrounds that are under-represented in Westminster and at the Fabian Society are particularly encouraged to apply. This includes women, disabled people and people from low-income or minority ethnic backgrounds.
About the post
For more than 130 years, the Fabian Society has been publishing some of the left’s most influential thinking. As Labour develops its policy offer ahead of the next election, we are now seeking an editorial assistant to help produce our high-quality publications, from the quarterly Fabian Review to our range of pamphlets, policy reports and essay collections.
The postholder will play a full role in our committed and creative editorial and communications team in writing, commissioning and editing for online and print and in helping to achieve maximum impact for the work we do.
At the conclusion of the 12-month contract, a permanent position may become available.
